NOSW is thrilled to introduce a new class of women who completed our residential session on November 22. From left in the photo above, Christy Short (Lexington), Laura Johnson (Winchester), Cheyenne Harper Lankford (Flemingsburg), Ashley Eubanks (Owenton), Christy Farley (Columbia) and Stella Mathews (Morehead) spent two weeks living together at Happiness Hills Farm near Berea. Each day they traveled to our NOSW campus for a packed schedule of classes and field trips. They explored self-esteem, values, boundaries, healthy relationships, integrative health, Appalachian culture, creative writing, personality styles, civic engagement, and so much more. They gained practical skills in self-defense, first aid, budgeting, resume writing, job interviewing, and math. And they got to know many community partners who taught classes and donated meals. We are so proud of these six women and excited to continue supporting them on their journey. You can see more pictures of their adventures on our Facebook page.
